Cindy stood up and grabed her bag are went to her locker. She dialed her combination and heard the click she was waiting for. She took out her lacross gear and shut her locker. Cindy went to the locker rooms and changed. After an two hours of playing she was sweating and her hair was in a messy bun. She got into her red mustang and put the adress into her GPS. CIndy wished she had time to change. She pulled in to the drive way and got out of the car and waited for Jermey.

Jeremy rode into the parking lot on his bike. He braked beside Cindy's car and pulled the kick-stand down.
"Hey, Cindy." He greeted her, smiling.

They looked at each other for at least 5 seconds too long when Jeremy turned toward the building. "Uh, let's go." His ears turned pink.

They seated themselves at a two person table. A waitress saw them and bustled over to them with a notepad. "What would you and your g.irlfriend like today, sir." She asked. Jeremy's ears turned even pinker then they were. "Uh, she's not.....just two smoothies, please." the waitress left. Jeremy avoided Cindy's eyes as they sat there.

The waitress came back with one smoothie with two straws in it.
Jeremy looked perplexed, "I said two smoothies." He told the waitress.
"Oh, did you? Well I'm sorry, our smoothie maker isn't working right now, maybe in thirty minutes it will."
Jeremy sighed. "I guess we'll have to share." he said finally looking at Cindy.

He reached over and squeezed her arm, "How about I drive you home?" He had a license but he was still saving up for a car.

Cindy's arm twiched and she pulled back.
" I can drive." She replied

Jeremy's smiled lessened a bit. "Ok, then." he slumped back in his chair. "Well I have homework to do," He said getting up. He opened his wallet and pulled out a ten dollar bill and tossed it onto the table.
"I'll see you later." He said looking at her one last time.

Cindy was still seating in the booth when Jeremy left. She blew air out of her mouth. She got up and walked to her car. She pulled into the driveway into her mansion. She could already hear her father yelling at her mom. She walked throght the door and it started...

Jeremy sighed as he peddled down to his home. why did I just leave like that? he asked himself, she must think I'm a loser now.
He wasn't paying attention to where he was going and fell into a ditch.
"Aaahhh-!" his left wrist crumpled underneath him.
He rolled over groaning. the ditch had a half a foot of water that smelled really bad.
He closed his eyes, it was so painful....

"Cindy why are you so late! We have dinner at 5:30 in this house!" He cursed at her alittle more and then smacked her.
"I'm sorry, Dad." Cindy felt the tears build up in her eyes.
"Go to bed!" He yelled at her and turned back to her mother. She ran up to her bed room and sat on her bed.

When he opened his eyes, it was already dark.
He got up, wincing at the stabbing pain in his wrist. His bike was smashed so he just left it there. When he got home his mother hugged him tightly and said, "Where were you, Jeremy? Never mind, come have some nice hot coca." She saw him wincing at her touch. "What's wrong with your wrist? Oh my, it's swollen! Let me go get the first aid kid!" she hurried off. Jeremy plopped into the chair at the table.

Cindy fell asleep to the yelling down stairs.
When she woke up in the morining and looked at the mark her father had left on her eye. She got dressed and put on her pink movie star glasses, trying to hide it. She grabed her lacross bag and her school bag and jumped in her car and drove to school.

The next day Jeremy's mother drove Jeremy to school.
"Be carful, dear!" His mother called after him as he walked away, his arm in a sling. "I will," he assured his mother and entered the school.

When he got to Algebra he looked around for Cindy but didn't see her. she must not be here yet, he thought as he took a seat by himself in the back.

All the bell rang for first period to end Cindy stood up and walked to her lock. She clicked her locker open.
